Evelyn F. Parkes, CPA, P.A., is a full-service CPA firm providing financial statement compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax preparation services. The firm has over 800 clients, many of whom are small businesses and professional individuals.
The firm provides federal, state and local tax preparation services for individuals (including non-residents), partnerships, corporations, non-profit entities, retirement plans, estates and trusts. The firm also provides bookkeeping services for various clients, including business, elderly and trust clients.
The firm performs accounting and auditing services within the following industries: Employee-benefit plans, professional services, retail establishments, trusts and non-profit organizations. The firm also participates in the Florida Institute of CPA’s peer review program and has successfully completed its last review, which was accepted in November of 2019.
The firm currently employs six people: Evelyn F. Parkes-Brier, CPA; three staff accountants and two administrative assistants.

Evelyn F. Parkes-Brier, C.P.A., Owner & President of Evelyn F Parkes, CPA, P.A., started her accounting career in 1983 as a staff accountant at the international accounting firm of Deloitte and worked there until 1989. During the five-plus years she was at Deloitte, she was promoted from staff accountant to senior accountant to tax manager. Evelyn was one of the few employees who worked in both audit and tax disciplines while at Deloitte.
Evelyn is a native Hispanic Floridian. She was born in Miami, but raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from high school in North Philadelphia. Evelyn returned to Miami where she attended Florida International University while working in various areas of bookkeeping. She graduated from Florida International University in December, 1982. Evelyn sat for the CPA exam in 1983, and passed the two and one-half day exam on her first attempt.
In1989, Evelyn moved to Palm Beach County and worked for Mercurio & Associates, P.A., a full-service public accounting firm, where she was in charge of all aspects of the tax department and handled several audit clients. In 1995, after realizing that she had the knowledge and ability to run the entire practice, she purchased the accounting firm of Mercurio & Associates, P.A., and has operated the business successfully for over 27 years.
Evelyn was a Board Member of United Way of Palm Beach County for nine years. Evelyn was a member of Palm Beach County Small Business Assistance Advisory Committee for 13 years and recently sat on Palm Beach County Natural Area Management Advisory Committee (“NAMAC”) for 5 years. She was also past President of Community Connection (a non-profit organization), Treasurer of HisPac and Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP). Evelyn is a member of the Forum Club, The Economic Forum of Palm Beach County, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
